Bio: Vince Waldron

Vince is a Business Adviser and Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA). Since 1998 he has been helping SMEs and start-ups by:

  • General business reviews and business plans, to test financial viability
  • Investigation of management accounts from top to bottom to uncover problems and improve the quality of financial and management reporting.
  • Virtual FD service for small businesses, providing support on a long-term basis; clients of this service have been in IT, avionics, public affairs, financial services, property management , education and other fields. 
  • Training business owners and key staff at seminars, on courses and internally, for the better understanding of their organisation’s financial information (particularly what it tells about its direction of travel and speed).

     

Between 1999 and 2010, Vince was a director of Kingston Chamber of Commerce, serving as Finance Director from 1999 to 2002, and Company Secretary from 2004 to 2010.In 2009-10 he had a 13 month spell as full-time interim Head of Finance at Chichester Cathedral, adding hands-on financial management in the not-for-profit and charity sector to his long and varied commercial experience.

Between 1974 and 1998 Vince was a Financial Executive within multi-national businesses. This included 5 years as Finance and Administration Director of a UK pharmaceutical subsidiary in the L’Oreal group, playing an important role in its rapid expansion by organic growth and product acquisition. By contrast, as Financial Controller at a French-owned UK engineering company, he coped with down-sizing and problematic cash-flow.

In addition to his accounting qualification, Vince holds an M.Sc. in Management Studies from Durham University Business School.
